To the steadfast people of Tigray ናብ ፅኑዕ ህዝቢ ትግራይ

"Real is rare." True leadership, integrity, and commitment to the people’s well-being are rare qualities, and they are sorely lacking in the current Interim Administration of Tigray. This moment demands accountability and boldness—not white lies and scapegoating. Yet, instead of owning up to their failures, the Interim Administration has resorted to deflecting blame onto the very army leaders who stood as a shield between Tigray and annihilation. These lies are not just an insult to those heroes but a betrayal of the people of Tigray, who have endured immeasurable suffering and made incalculable sacrifices for survival.

The Interim Administration’s tactics are a deliberate attempt to evade responsibility. Instead of addressing the glaring issues that plague Tigray—unresolved territorial occupation, the plight of displaced people, and the collapse of basic services—the administration has chosen to fabricate divisions and attack those who continue to fight for the survival of Tigray. Their claim that the army leaders represent a "clique" is nothing more than a calculated distortion designed to fracture the unity of the people. In truth, it is the administration’s exclusionary governance, backroom deals, and failure to uphold the Pretoria Agreement that have deepened Tigray’s crisis.

While the administration accuses the army of interfering in "internal political matters," this is a transparent lie meant to discredit those who have the courage to call for accountability. The heroes of Tigray’s army have not sought power or political control; they have spoken out because the administration has abandoned its duty. The ongoing humanitarian crisis, the delayed return of IDPs, and the failure to restore essential services reflect a leadership that is more focused on preserving its own power than alleviating the suffering of its people.

"It takes two," they say, to build a nation and heal a people. The people of Tigray have done their part, showing resilience in the face of unspeakable adversity and supporting the call for peace and reconstruction. But leadership must also rise to the occasion, and here the Interim Administration has failed. Rather than working hand-in-hand with the people and Tigray’s army, they have chosen the path of division, rejecting legitimate critiques as "errors" and dismissing the concerns of those who hold them accountable.

Their latest claim, that proposals for coordinating security forces are "unconstitutional," is yet another smokescreen to mask their own incompetence. The truth is, their rejection of unity among security forces only exposes their intent to centralize power and suppress voices of dissent. By doing so, they have allowed chaos to fester, neglecting their duty to safeguard Tigray’s stability and security.

But the greatest betrayal lies in their scapegoating. The heroes of Tigray’s army, who upheld the principles of the Pretoria Agreement even under the most dire circumstances, are now being accused of undermining it. This is a cruel inversion of the truth. It is the administration that has failed to uphold the agreement’s key provisions—leaving Tigray’s territories under occupation, delaying the return of IDPs, and failing to restore basic services. These failures are not just administrative shortcomings; they are a betrayal of the trust and sacrifices of the Tigrayan people.

"It only takes one to let a snake into the garden." The Interim Administration has opened the door to division, manipulation, and betrayal. Their white lies and blame-shifting are the snake threatening the garden of peace and hope that Tigray’s people and heroes fought so hard to reclaim. But the people of Tigray are no strangers to struggle, and they will not be deceived by falsehoods or broken promises.

The peaceful demonstrations spreading across Tigray are a powerful testament to the people’s unshakable resolve. These voices demand truth, justice, and accountability. They refuse to accept a leadership that has abandoned its responsibilities while silencing those who dare to call out its failures. The people of Tigray deserve leaders who are honest, inclusive, and focused on the collective good—not their own survival.

The Interim Administration must know this: you cannot erase the truth, nor can you undermine the sacrifices of Tigray’s heroes. History will judge your failures, your lies, and your betrayal of the people. Tigray deserves better—better governance, better leadership, and better accountability. The people’s endurance and the sacrifices of their heroes will not be in vain.

To the people of Tigray: let this be a call to vigilance. Protect the unity that binds us. Demand leadership that prioritizes the restoration of Tigray’s dignity, territorial integrity, and humanitarian needs. Do not allow deceit and scapegoating to divide us. Together, as one people, we will guard the garden of Tigray’s peace and prosperity, refusing to let it be overrun by lies or betrayal.

The future of Tigray lies in your strength, your unity, and your resolve. Stand firm, and let the truth light our way forward. Justice, resilience, and hope shall prevail.
