White Lies, Blames, and Scapegoating: The Interim Administration’s Evasion of Accountability
The Interim Administration of Tigray has issued a statement filled with accusations, distortions, and blame-shifting, in a calculated attempt to scapegoat the heroic army leaders who saved Tigray from annihilation. The statement is a deliberate effort to cover up its own failures and mismanagement, while attempting to shift responsibility for its inaction onto those who have sacrificed everything for the survival of the Tigrayan people.
This response exposes the white lies, baseless accusations, and ulterior motives behind the statement of the Interim Administration, addressing the bolded contents of their statement and laying bare the truth behind their claims.
1. "The statement issued in the name of senior commanders is partial towards one clique"
This is a blatant fabrication intended to sow division among the Tigrayan people. The army leaders have always acted in the interests of Tigray as a whole, not a specific "clique." The real division stems from the Interim Administration’s own political maneuvering, exclusionary governance, and backroom deals with the genocidal forces that devastated Tigray.
It is the Interim Administration that has failed to create an inclusive government as stipulated in the Pretoria Agreement, alienating political and civic groups. Their accusation against the army leadership is nothing more than a desperate attempt to deflect attention from their own failures.
2. "The army has no authority to inject itself in internal matters of a political party"
This claim is a white lie designed to undermine the credibility of the heroes who fought for Tigray’s survival. The statement by the army leadership was not about political interference but a call for accountability and adherence to the Pretoria Agreement.
The Interim Administration accuses the army leaders of overreach, yet it has itself failed to uphold its own responsibilities. The administration has delayed the restoration of Tigray’s territories, neglected the return of IDPs, and failed to address the humanitarian crisis plaguing Tigray. These failures are what prompted the army’s intervention, not political ambition.
3. "The decision regarding councils is outside the institutional mission of the army"
The army leaders’ critique of governance structures is not overreach—it is a reflection of the administration’s incompetence. The Interim Administration has neglected its duty to address governance issues, allowing fragmentation and disorder to fester.
By accusing the army leaders of interfering, the administration is attempting to silence dissent and avoid accountability for its own lack of action. The people of Tigray have the right to question a government that has failed to provide basic services, protect its people, or restore order.
4. "The stance regarding restructuring fatally undermines the Pretoria Agreement"
The real undermining of the Pretoria Agreement lies with the Interim Administration itself. Despite repeated promises, the administration has:
• Failed to restore Tigray’s territorial integrity, leaving large areas under occupation.
• Delayed the return of IDPs, who continue to suffer in inhumane conditions.
• Neglected the restoration of basic services, such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
Instead of addressing these urgent issues, the administration is scapegoating the army leadership, accusing them of undermining an agreement they are striving to uphold.
5. "Making all security forces accountable to a single entity is unconstitutional"
This claim is a smokescreen for the administration’s own attempts to centralize power and suppress dissent. The army leaders’ proposal for coordination among security forces is not unconstitutional—it is a practical solution to the administration’s failure to maintain order and security in Tigray.
By rejecting this proposal, the Interim Administration is prioritizing its own political survival over the safety and unity of the Tigrayan people.
6. "The decisions contain fundamental errors and will not be implemented"
The administration’s outright rejection of the heroes’ statement is a dereliction of duty. Instead of engaging with the legitimate concerns raised by the army leaders, the administration has chosen to dismiss them outright, further alienating those who have sacrificed so much for Tigray’s survival.
The Truth Behind the Heroes’ Statement
The army leaders’ statement was not a power grab or an attack on the Interim Administration. It was a desperate attempt to:
• Hold the administration accountable for its delays and inaction.
• Demand progress on the key provisions of the Pretoria Agreement.
• Advocate for the restoration of basic services and the return of IDPs.
• Highlight the need for an inclusive governance structure to heal the divisions within Tigray.
Far from undermining the Pretoria Agreement, the heroes’ statement was a reaffirmation of its principles and a call for its full implementation.
The Real Motives Behind the Interim Administration’s Statement
The Interim Administration’s statement is not about protecting the people of Tigray or upholding the Pretoria Agreement. It is about preserving its own power and silencing those who dare to question its failures.
By accusing the army leaders of overreach and undermining the agreement, the administration is attempting to:
• Distract from its failure to restore Tigray’s territories, return IDPs, and address the humanitarian crisis.
• Undermine the credibility of the army leaders, who remain trusted by the people of Tigray.
• Consolidate power and suppress dissent within Tigray.
Conclusion: A Crisis of Leadership
The Interim Administration’s statement is a textbook example of blame-shifting and scapegoating. It is an insult to the heroes who saved Tigray from extinction and a betrayal of the people they claim to represent.
The truth is clear: the Interim Administration has failed to uphold its responsibilities under the Pretoria Agreement, failed to address the suffering of the people of Tigray, and failed to provide the leadership needed in this critical moment.
History will judge the Interim Administration harshly for its white lies, scapegoating, and betrayal of Tigray’s heroes. The people of Tigray deserve better—better leadership, better governance, and better accountability. The sacrifices of Tigray’s heroes must not be in vain.

The article is holding something truths that shouldn't be refuted easily, however, it's undeserved partisanship approach stating the statement declared by the army core commanders portraying as innocent intentions to strengthening the interim administration while ignorantly recognizing one split tplf party team as if they are national electoral board office and blaming only the interim team as responsible for all the billions crimes, betrayal and illegal activities to keep Tigrai stateless by making itself detached of those sins committed in Tigrai.
ReplyDeleteThe article wonderful as it might appears should have remain rational towards both sides...if intended to really resolve our collective national all rounded failures. Hence, it will add fuel into the fire in this approach. Thanks.
Let's all keep writing such articles in all languages possible to identify our failures and find the means to collectively solve them for the sake od Tigray prevailing.
